The Hunt For All-Star Game Mickey

Day three of our Anaheim trip was spent searching the surrounding areas for huge Mickey Mouse statues. What kind of Mickey statues, you ask... well, I'm talking about MLB all-star game Mickey statues. For those of you reading this who are not aware, the all-star game is being held in Anaheim at Angel stadium this year. So in honor of that big game DL and MLB teamed up and placed Mickey statues all over the Orange County and L.A. areas. There are 36 statues in total... one for each team and then several extras. We noticed several of them as we were walking through Downtown Disney doing some shopping. We figured that there had to be one for each team... so we did some research and decided to go see the ones that were close to us. It's a good thing I was with people who love baseball as much as myself, otherwise this probably would not have been as much fun as it was. Even Savannah had fun on our little scavenger hunt. By the 5th or 6th statue she had the routine down... she knew that once the car stopped we had to be fast getting to the statue, stand in front of it, look at mom and smile, and then run really fast back to the car. She was a pro! Before our crazy long day of statue hunting and a baseball game, we did manage to squeeze in some Disney fun earlier in the day. We went to breakfast at one of the Disneyland Hotels, saw some more characters, and then did some shopping in the Downtown Disney area. Seriously, there is so much to do even outside of Disneyland, it would have been nice to have a whole week to do it all so we could take our time. We were all so tired by the end of our mini vacation.
