To The Farm We Go

Before our trip down to the farm this past weekend, we decided to go ahead and convert Ryder's baby car seat into a baseless booster seat.  I can not even tell you how excited Eric and I both were to do this.  We are now so much closer to being totally done with carseats.  What a wonderful day that will be!!  We had to commemorate this milestone with a picture, of course.  The rest of the weekend at the farm was packed with all sorts of activities and fun, as usual.  The kids both got to ride the four wheeler and go fishing.  The weather was actually not too bad, so our time spent outside there wasn't as hot and sweaty as it could have been.  It was the perfect quick little farm visit before we get back into the swing of the school year.

The kids both loved getting to feed the catfish.  They easily went through four full trays of food.  The fish at Papaw's farm are not starving, that's for sure.

We woke up early Sunday morning so that the kids could fish.  This was something that they had both been asking to do since the last time we were down there.  Savannah started the morning off right with a catch almost immediately.  A pretty good sized catfish that papaw had to pull in for her.

Ryder caught a little bitty baby brother sized fish.  He was happy about this… the size, or lack of, did not bother him.

Is this not the sweetest moment ever.  Ryder sat so patiently right next to his daddy waiting on a fish.  It was the sweetest.

Ryder Rides A Big Tractor

One day back before Ryder's birthday Savannah asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday and he said "ride big tractor".  Seriously, that is what he said.  kid is obsessed with big tractors, and big trucks, and big cars, and big trains... if it is on wheels, he is all about it.  So of course we had to get Ryder down to the farm so Papaw could take him on a big tractor.

It's pretty awesome when birthday wishes come true.  He was one happy little boy.

By the end of the big tractor ride this is what he looked like... completely passed out.

Little man is also a huge fan of the 4 wheeler.  He likes to hold the handles and turn them like he is actually the one steering.  He would ride around on this all day long if we had let him.

Three generations of Haynes boys doing farm work.

**Incase you were wondering, Savannah isn't in any pictures because while we were out playing on the farm she was at the museum with grandma enjoying some quality girl time.  That was much more appealing to her than a big tractor ride**

Easter At The Farm (A Make-up)

Back in March we had planned to spend Easter down at the farm with the kids' Papaw and Grandma.  All was going well, but then Ryder got very sick and we ended up in the hospital... the rest is history.  it was very disappointing, especially for Savannah... she was so looking forward to a weekend at the farm.  Once everyone had recovered and we were all healthy we headed down to the farm for a make-up session.  So much fun!  Ryder was in heaven.  Everything about the farm made him smile.  He loved spending every minute of the day outside playing in the dirt and riding the four wheeler.  Savannah was also very happy to be down there.  She kept grandma pretty busy... gardening, crafting, taking walks... all the important stuff.

The big hit and huge surprise of the weekend... baby ducks!!  They bought the ducks for the kids as an Easter gift, so they had grown a bit by the time that we made it down there to see them.  They were still super cute though.  Both the kids loved feeding them and watching them swim around.

So for the first time in Ryder's year and a half of living he was introduced to a four wheeler.  It was literally LOVE at first sight.  Daddy pulled up on that thing and Ryder's eyes got so big... he immediately wanted to get on and then NEVER wanted to get off.

How to drive a four wheeler 101, taught by her daddy.

The look on her face is priceless.  Little girl is growing up.

Poor little guy trying to catch up to daddy and sissy.  His little bitty four wheeler just doesn't compare to the real thing.

No Easter make up would be complete without confetti eggs.  The kids went crazy cracking those things all over the porch at the farm.  Ryder thought it was so so so funny.  He would laugh so hard every time one cracked open and confetti spilled out.
