I'm sure that part of the reason why our drive out was so nice was because we took a one and a half day pit stop in Phoenix to visit with our friends the Reschs and catch a Diamondbacks game. Breaking up a horribly long two day drive always works out for everyone involved. Plus, I had never been to the Diamondbacks stadium, so that made me very happy to cross that off my MLB ballparks to visit list. The kids had fun at the game... Ryder was passed from lap to lap and then eventually fell asleep. Savannah enjoyed some ice cream and then got to play in the kid area for a bit. Love me some Sunday afternoon baseball!
After the game we headed back to the hotel to rest, pack, and SWIM! Savannah was dying to get in the fancy hotel pool. Since it was a Sunday, the hotel was dead and we had the whole pool area to ourselves. While she swam, Missy and I enjoyed an adult beverage, and Ryder messed around on the floor. Relaxation for all.
