Road Tripping Like A Pro

One might think that road tripping from Texas to San Diego with a baby, a 5 year old, and two dogs might not be so much fun.  Turns out my kids are troopers... Ryder cried maybe once (for like 3 minutes), Savannah had a few "are we there yet" moments, and it took the dogs an hour or so on the road before they finally settled down... other than those minor hiccups, my car full of road trippers rocked!  The whole drive was actually a lot easier than I had thought it was going to be.  We made it to Phoenix (post about that visit to come) the first day.  Spent two nights there and then arrived in San Diego a little before dinner time on Monday.  Since then we have been spending our time showing our friend Missy around town and trying to get adjusted to Cali time(the two hour time difference has been rough on Ryder), Cali weather (it's a little cold), and Cali rules (Savannah has been a little bratty the last few days.  Hoping her attitude adjusts quickly).  Other than that, life is good... we made it safe and sound... now bring on the summer fun!

Our first pit stop in Midland... CHAOS!!  Dogs not wanting to pee or walk on the leash, runny nasty oatmeal that Ryder would not eat, and our car wouldn't start.  Awesome.  Luckily it was a minor mishap that we were able to easily fix.  That would have royally sucked to have broken down completely.

I should take a picture of our license plate sheet after the long drive... we seriously kicked some butt.  Can you believe we found Alaska... score!!
