Insta-Friday

Our week started off good... movies, birthday fun... and then ended with a sick baby with an ear infection... ugh, yuck.

Last Friday night Savannah and I headed to the movies to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D. It was awesome! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love all things Disney. It took very little convincing (pretty much none) on Savannah's part to get me to take her to see the movie. Since this was part of the birthday weekend festivities and we had ate a good dinner before we left for the movie, I figured that we could splurge and have popcorn and candy. Typically I make Savannah choose one or the other. Here is what we came up with... popcorn mixed with Whoppers, Reese's Pieces, and Sour Patch Kids. YUM!! I'm telling you, mixing it all together is the way to go.

After Savannah's party on Saturday we headed up to meet all the boys and watch the end of the Saints playoff game. Savannah and her uncle Scotty cheering for the Saints.

Savannah isn't the only one who got a new Rangers sweatshirt this week. Little man got one too!! I was at Babies R Us trying to use up the rewards dollars that I got in the mail. Typically I have no problem spending those, but this time there was nothing we needed and the $20.00 was going to expire that day. Luckily I came across the sweatshirt... it was the last 12 months, so I snatched it up. Love it. Eric was just excited that both of his kids were sporting Rangers (and not Padres) gear. Savannah and her new sweatshirt have been inseparable. She wore it to school every single day this past week.

I went ahead and let Ryder try some puffs and a mum mum this week. He had no interest in the puff, but loved the mum. He doesn't really understand to hold the mum in his mouth so that he can chew on it. Lucky for him, his big sis thought it was fun to hold the mum in his mouth for him.

"Best Sister Ever"... so says the shirt that Ryder gave Savannah for her birthday. She thought it was so cool that Ryder picked that out for her all on his own.

On Wednesday I started to notice that Ryder wasn't really acting like himself. He wasn't eating much and would cry whenever I put him down. Not like him at all. By bedtime all the other nasty symptoms had appeared... snotty nose, cough, yuckiness in the diaper, to name a few. I took him to the doctor yesterday... poor guy has an ear infection. He is now on an antibiotic and should hopefully be on his way to feeling better. Savannah was bored out of her mind while we waited for the doctor to see us. She dug around in my bag and found some crayons (no clue where they came from) that she could use to color on the roll of paper covering the exam table. Kept her occupied the entire time.

Poor sick boy. The last two nights have been awful. No sleep for me... very little for him. Laying him down has not been an option, so this is how we have slept. Both of us in the recliner. I can not wait for Eric to get home and take over this job... he loves when Ryder snuggles on him.

I love the popcorn/candy mixture. Looks like an excellent idea to me!

I hope Ryder feels better soon. :)
