USS Midway

Yesterday we headed down to check out the USS Midway Museum. They have taken an aircraft carrier that was active back in the day and turned it in to a museum. When you get there they give you a headset to put on so you can follow the guided audio tour. The tour takes you all through the carrier... all the way down to the brig and then all the way up to the flight deck. It was very cool. Everyone that we went with was worried that Savannah was not going to be able to handle all the walking and constant stair climbing. She made it all the way through the tour and never complained once. She thought all the little exhibits were so cool. She wanted to touch everything. If there was something for her to climb on or try out she was all over it. There were several planes that we were allowed to climb in and check out. Savannah liked messing with all the flight controls in the planes. Then we we got up to the flight deck she was bouncing from plane to plane checking out everything. They have about 25 naval aircraft on display. The oldest going back all the way to World War I. Savannah kept yelling, "that is a really big plane!"... I was very surprised that she was so entertained by this type of thing.

That is the USS Ronald Reagan behind us.

She loved the flight room. She climbed from chair to chair... she told me that she wanted to try out all of them.
