Yesterday Savannah and I spent the afternoon at the San Diego Zoo. I can't remember the last time I went to the zoo and all of the animals were out. It always seems like the animals are sleeping or hiding so you never get to see everything. Well, not today. All of the animals were out and very social. Savannah loved watching them play. She sat at the Sun Bear exhibit for probably almost 20 minutes watching the three bears play with cardboard and swim. She kept saying, "look mom, they play like me". The tiger cubs were also out wrestling right in front of the glass. All the kids got to stand face to face with them. It was so cool. The funniest part of the day took place at the hippo exhibit. One of the hippo was floating in the water right up against the glass. I picked Savannah up so she could see the hippo's head at the top of the water. I sat her back down and she pointed at the glass and asked, "what's that?"... I said, "the hippo's butt". Savannah then stuck her butt out and said very loudly "here's my butt mommy". Great... it's not like we were there alone. There were probably 25 other people standing right there when she said that. Everyone was laughing at her. Silly Savannah.
