Happy 2009

Man oh man, I am getting old. I slept through New Year's Eve. I laid down with Savannah at around 7:30 last night and wound up falling asleep. Eric tried to wake me up but apparently I was out. I did get up for about ten minutes right before midnight. I was back in bed shortly thereafter. I have never missed out on New Year's Eve before. Even when I was little my G-ma would keep us up so we could bang pots and pans at midnight. She would be disappointed to hear that I banged on nothing last night. Sorry G-ma. Eric did make sure that we all (even the dog) ate some black eyed peas and cornbread today. I know that my SD people are thinking "WHY??". Well, in these parts they think that it brings good luck to eat black eyed peas and cornbread on New Years day. Eric is all about it so I was not going to question his tradition. I did google it to see if other people did this. Turns out he is not alone... apparently it is a southern thing. Savannah should be extra lucky this year... she loved her black eyed peas and cornbread. In fact, she had seconds. I hope that everyone had an exciting New Year's! Here's to a great 2009!

P.S. In case you hadn't noticed, our blog got a face lift. Just in time to start 2009 off right! I had every intention of learning how to do all this super cute and creative layout/web design stuff. That was before I went back to work. I just could not find the time or extra energy to figure it out. So, I found some one who could do it for me. After hours of blog surfing I came across a website called Pink Armchair Designs. The woman, Jenny, who does all the designing is so talented. You HAVE to go check out her blog. She was very easy to work with, super efficient, and extremely affordable. Whose blog couldn't use a little revamping?!?! Thanks so much Jenny at Pink Armchair Designs... I LOVE the new look!
