For the first time in my almost 3 years in Texas I experienced the true inconvenience of icy weather. This past week was the first time that I actually had to function (i.e. drive, work, get out of the house) in nasty weather. Tuesday afternoon Savannah's school closed early due to the weather conditions. Which meant that I had to leave work early to go get her. Then on Wednesday her school was closed all day. Luckily Eric was in town this week or I would have had to take off to stay home with her. While the two of them stayed warm and cozy at home I headed out to take on the icy roads. Never, never, never again will I be doing that. Thankfully all the weather craziness was done by Wednesday afternoon. Everything was back to normal by Thursday morning... Savannah was so happy to go back to school.
Watching her mommy get ready to leave for work without her. She was so upset that she was not going too.
The car was iced shut. It took E forever to get the door to open. Poor guy was out there for a good twenty minutes in freezing weather getting all the ice of the windows for me.
This is Savannah's school. CLOSED!
