Today was a pretty big "big girl" day for Savannah. The first thing she told me when I picked her up from school was that she was chosen to do morning announcements over the speaker. I had no clue that students had the opportunity to do that. She was so proud of herself. Apparently she read the lunch menu and some other daily stuff. Pretty cool. Then before practice tonight Savannah was playing on the playground... trying over and over again to do the monkey bars on her own. After several failed attempts she finally did it. You have no idea how HUGE this is. She has never been able to go more than two or three bars before falling. She was so proud of herself. Then to top it off, tonight while we were reading before bed, she read an entire sentence on her own. ON HER OWN!! No help, no hints, no sounding it out for her. On her own. I almost cried. So proud of that little girl. She is growing up so fast... and days like today make me realize that sooner than later she is going to be doing it all on her own without any help from me. Bittersweet thought.
