First week of school is now in the books. Thankfully Eric was home all week to help me get into the swing of my new daily routine.
We did have a little scare the few days before school started. Savannah woke up on Saturday saying that her throat hurt and she didn't feel good. By Sunday she was pretty snotty and icky. Lots of rest and some hot tea (her favorite) and she was good (enough) to go to school on Monday. It would have sucked to start the year off immediately out of the running for perfect attendance.
Ryder was not as lucky as Savannah. The cold hit him pretty hard. Plus on top of that he has two molars coming in... ugh, he has had a rough week. I also caught their nastiness... so needless to say, I have seen my fair share of snot this week.
Poor little man was so stuffed up that he was breathing with his mouth wide open all week long.
Savannah's favorite part of school... walking to and from... of course. The hundred degree heat doesn't phase her. I on the other hand do not like walking the several blocks to her school in the afternoon. Too hot, sweating through my clothes is not fun. So our deal at the moment is that we walk to school in the morning and then on days when it is not insane hot we will walk home also. Once the weather cools down here, we will walk all the time. Ryder gets super excited on our walks. Especially once he sees Savannah after class. He sure has missed his sister being home all day.
The shirts that Savannah's school sells for the kids run kind of big and are not all that cute. So in an attempt to make school spirit more appealing for Savannah, I bought two different shirts in large sizes and cut them down and made dresses for her. Brilliant! She loves her school dress.
Ryder LOVES bath time. He hears the water start running and crawls as fast as he can in to the bathroom. He has now figure out that he can crawl into the bathtub... no more waiting patiently for mom to put him in.
Everything about this cover cracks me up... the title, the babies in boots and diapers... even better, the ridiculous parenting quiz inside. Eric was, of course, in love with everything about this month's issue.
