I mentioned in my Comic Con post that there were a ton of outside events going on while we were down there. One of the ones that I had heard about was this thing called Zombie Walk. It's basically a group of people of all ages (there were a ton of kids) dressed up as zombies all walking through downtown together spreading what they called "zombie awareness". Apparently the zombie world thinks that they are neglected and that the vampires and warewolves get all the attention. I am not making this up, I swear. So these zombies staged a protest and took over the Gaslamp District. I had looked up the website for this event before we headed down there so I knew exactly what time they were going to start. I wanted to make sure that we had a front row seat for the show. I am so glad that we got down there super early and scored an awesome patio spot to watch the hundreds of zombies go by. Ryder wasn't phased one bit by them. They kept coming up to him and grunting and trying to scare him, but he just laughed. Savannah on the other hand was terrified. She was actually liking it until this one little girl zombie came right up to her. After seeing that she climbed up on Uncle Ry Ry's lap and stayed there until all the zombies passed.
This would be the little zombie girl that scared Savannah. Freaky freaky freaky. Her make-up looks so real. Plus this girl was into it. One of the better kid zombies out there.
And this is how she sat for nearly 30 minutes while the zombies passed. Ryan said that her little heart was beating so fast. Afterwards I tried to explain to her that it was just like Halloween and nothing to be scared of. I'm not sure if the talk worked or not... I'm guessing since there were no bad dreams that night, we should be fine.
