Six weeks down, one more to go. I can not believe how insanely quick this visit has flown by. In just one short week we will be packing up and heading back to Texas to finish up our summer.
For the past four weeks Savannah has been taking swim classes. My friend Liz works for the city of Chula Vista Aquatics, so we have been lucky enough to get hooked up this summer. Savannah has even had a week of private lessons (she will continue them next week)... which have worked wonders for her stroke. Sounds silly to be talking about proper stroke action for a five year old, but it makes a difference. If they are swimming with the correct strokes and fast kicks, then they don't get tired as quickly, and not getting tired as quickly means no stopping in the middle of the deep end to catch your breath which could lead to drowning. I am very happy with the how much she has improved this summer. Her swimming is pretty awesome!
One of the things I miss the most about living in SD... getting to be a part of friends' life changing events. This past week one of my friends (who coincidentally is married to another high school friend of mine) had a sweet little baby boy. Savannah and I both were so excited to get our hands on that little man. A tiny little newborn, seems like a lifetime ago since we had one of our own.
Baby Sylas Samuel Sandoval
Outside the Lego store in Downtown Disney... some pretty impressive lego creations.
Officer Haynes says "you have the right to remain silent"... so cute! I couldn't resist the purchase of these pj's. We think cops are pretty cool in our family!
Slowly but surely, getting better with a sippy cup.
Having to rinse off in the shower before class starts and then go and wait outside for the teacher to let you in the pool is no fun when it is chilly out.
I really do believe that every little boy out there should own a mustache hat. Maybe his daddy would like a matching one...
