Boys Dress Up Too!

Ryder is following in his sister's footsteps… the boy loves to play make believe and dress up.  He and Savannah will spend countless hours dressing up and going on adventures together.  Pretty much every single day Ryder has some sort of super hero costume on and is running around fighting someone or saving his sissy from something.  The dressing up stage is absolutely one of my favorites.

Insta-Friday

Savannah's birthday week was packed full, that's for sure.  Between celebrating the big 6 and getting ready for the official start of our troop's cookie sale we had very little time to relax this past week.

Lots and lots of attention has been paid to Savannah's new friend Alice.  Even Ryder loves carrying her around.

The cake I made for Savannah's birthday turned out way better than I thought it was going to.  I had seen this cake pinned all over Pinterest and have wanted an excuse to try it out.  Turning 6 was the perfect occasion.  It looked fantastic and it tasted great... and the best part... it was Ryder friendly.

Birthday morning breakfast with little brother.

The biggest birthday surprise... it snowed a tiny bit on her birthday.  She was so so so excited.  She honestly thought that it snowed just for her.

Birthday dinner at the sushi buffet down the road... her choice, of course.  Ryder enjoys the food there also.  There actually are a lot of choices for him.  More than some other restaurants we go to.  His favorite part is always trying to eat with chop sticks.  Each time we go there he gets a little bit better with them.

The bean bag chair that my dad got Savannah for her birthday is a huge huge hit around here.  The two of them are constantly fighting over it.

baby butt crack... not sure it gets any cuter.

These two in the bathtub together is absolute chaos.

Peter Pan dress-up from San Diego G-ma.  A great addition to Savannah's dress-up collection.  It's nice to have a non princess outfit to add to the rotation.

Ryder unloaded and put away the silverware for me... I guess I can't complain, he got them all in the drawer.  No big deal that he didn't actually put them away correctly, right.

Dressing Up For The Oscars

Like most five year old girls out there, Savannah loves to dress up. So you can imagine how excited she was when I suggested that we get all fancied up to watch the Academy Awards. We had been watching the hours of red carpet coverage, so she had seen all the ladies arriving and posing for the cameras. She had no clue what the show or awards were about, all she knew and cared about was getting to put on her fancy dress and some make-up. I even let her pick out one of my good necklaces to wear. Then just when she thought it couldn't get any better, I suggested that we dress baby brother up too. What did I plan on dressing Ryder up in, you ask... a baby tuxedo, duh. Every 7 month old baby boy owns one, right?? Well, maybe not most, but we do. I can thank my dad for that. He and his girlfriend were shopping in Mexico and saw the tux and said that they couldn't pass it up. I laughed when he gave it to me, thinking, "when the heck is he ever going to get to wear that???". Turned out I was wrong, my dad was right, and it is a pretty fun thing to own. Luckily Ryder is a big boy, so we had no problem getting it to fit... jacket was a little big... give it a month or so though and we will be good to go.

Our little movie stars posing for the paparazzi. Savannah's faces crack me up.

I think he's ready to do a little wedding crashing. What a stud.

Oh, and then there's Savannah. A red carpet pro at 5 years old. She even made sure to pose so we could see the back of her dress.

Is it me, or does my girl do a pretty good Zoolander... not that she knows what that is. When I was going through the bajillion paparazzi pictures Eric and I took I immediately stopped on this one and thought "holy Zoolander!!".

Oh, and I saved the best for last, Miss Savannah's red carpet interview. Her answers to our questions are awesome and so so funny. E and I could barely hold it together.
