Holy crazy three days of household rivalry baseball. Eric's Rangers were in SD this week to play the Padres for three games. Of course he planned his vacation out here around that series. Well, not only him... but also our good friends Scott and Michelle and their little girl... and also another one of Eric's friends flew out to go to the games with us. So during the day we jumped around from one SD sight to the next and then at night we went to the ball games. Savannah was able to cross #18 (go to a baseball game) off her summer bucket list. For each game we had a pretty good sized group (mostly Rangers fans, ugh.) for each game. I wish I could say that the Padres played well and that I was able to rub some big fat victories in Eric's face, but that was not the case. Those dang Rangers swept my Padres. Now Eric has bragging rights for the time being.
GAME ONE:
The Ladies of our group
and the boys...
during batting practice before game one Pitcher Joe Nathan was out on the field signing autographs for fans. I pushed my way up to the front with Savannah so she could get him to sign her hat. Woo hoo... autograph success!
The end of a very long game one.
GAME TWO:
We got our seats out in the park area for game two. One of my absolute favorite places to watch a game... especially if you are going with kids. Such a family friendly area. The kids can be loud and run around. The adults can hang out a have a beer. All while still getting the ambiance of the Padres game.
Savannah and Uncle Ry Ry playing catch.
The most amusing part of the night... trying to get the two babies to crawl down the pretty steep grassy hill. At one point Ryder face plated pretty hard (video below). So funny.
GAME THREE:
Finally, a day game!! This called for sandbox tickets. Love these seats.... bleacher style concrete seats with a huge sand area below for the kids to play. We brought in some beach toys and let the kids go to town while the adults watched the game.
Another one bites the dust... up next, camping at the beach!
