Savannah and her best bud Collin at his birthday party. They had the party at a park and there were enough kids there to play fun old school games. They played red rover and had a pretty awesome round of tug-of-war.
Unfortunately, our week took a turn for the worst when we were notified that Eric's grandmother in KY had passed away. Everything from then on was kind of a blur. We scrambled to pack and get everything together so we could get on the road to KY as quickly as possible. While it was so good to see the family, the circumstances for which we were all there were awful. Savannah had a little bit of a difficult time understanding what exactly had happened to her mamaw. We had several (very truthful and non sugar coated) conversations about life and death. Luckily, Savannah has several cousins in KY (all around the same age), so they all kept each other busy playing. I think having them there to hang out with really made the whole thing a little easier for her

Ryder with auntie Janine
Both kids are pretty much over being in the car. Ryder didn't travel as well as he normally does. His ears seemed to be bothering him, he was awake a lot more than usual, and he had way to many accidents in his pants that required immediate pulling over.
Savannah... as always, a good little traveler and a wonderful backseat mommy. She helped keep Ryder happy, fed, and entertained.
Once we were done with our family business in KY, the kids and I got to tag along with Eric down to Mississippi for work. Thankfully, he was working in a beach town... score! We spent Thursday and Friday playing around at the beach and local parks.
