Most everyone has heard by now, that some pretty bad tornados hit our area on Tuesday. In fact, one of the largest of the bunch hit less than a quarter mile from our house. Homes all around us were ruined, trees everywhere were uprooted, and everywhere you looked there was some sort of debris. The scariest part of the whole thing was that Savannah was at school while all of the nasty weather was happening and we couldn't get to her. Her school was very very lucky... they were also extremely close to where the tornado went through. Eric and I thought that something had happened there, for sure. You can imagine how thankful we were to get our little girl back, safe and sound. From the stories she tells us from the day, it sounds like her teachers and the other school staff handled the situation very well. Savannah was informed about what was going on but not scared at all. Thank God that Savannah was being cared for by such a capable group of people. Everyone back home kept asking me for pictures of the damage, but to be honest, I just couldn't bring myself to snap very many pictures of any of it. I felt horrible stopping to take a picture of a ruined home while the family stood in their yard crying. It just didn't seem right. So, the only picture I have is below... and it doesn't even sum up how bad it was for some people.
Now that Savannah is learning to read, write, and spell, she is always whipping up notes for someone. Sometimes me, sometimes a friends, sometimes to herself... I love when they are for me though. She slipped me this one the other day. She wrote it all on her own... forgot the "O", but who really cares. Still very sweet.
Our little man with 6 teeth (two more coming through at the moment) loves lasagna. I don't like the mess that comes with a baby eating lasagna. Yuck.
Thursday Savannah had a full day of Easter festivities at school. It started with a family friendly Easter bunny breakfast (which Eric got to go to since he was in town. Savannah was so happy), then they dyed and hunted eggs, and had a pizza party. So much fun. She was so excited to get home and show us her loot from the day.
