The Princess and the Frog

Friday morning Savannah and I (along with some of our favorite people) went to see The Princess and the Frog. I am not sure who was more excited to see the movie... me or Savannah... seriously. We were both so pumped for the release of this film. Savannah was sporting her Tiana dress and carrying her Tiana doll. Clearly we have been prepping for this day for months. She was so ready! I thought the movie was AWESOME! Savannah thought the movie was scary. After the movie was over she did not say anything for a few minutes. When she finally spoke she said, "the Shadow Man was scary... (WARNING: spoiler alert!!) he killed the bug". Needless to say, she was a tad traumatized by all the voodoo. After an hour or so she started to talk about all the happy parts of he movie... at least now she will say that she liked the movie, just not the Shadow Man.
In other news, my dad is in town for a visit. After the movie on Friday Savannah and I headed over to the airport to pick him up. The reason for his visit: 1. to spend his birthday (which is today) with us. 2. To go to the Chargers/Cowboys game tomorrow. So far having him here has been a blast! The four of us headed out to do some shopping at the mall and other various western stores. My dad treated himself to a pair of cowboy boots for his birthday. Then we came back to the house and did gifts and cake. It was a pretty mellow birthday celebration... but still fun. It was great to have my dad here to celebrate with. Happy birthday Dad... I love you!
