"Eeww, that's dirty"

Let me catch you up on how Savannah has been doing. As I had hoped, Savannah was fine to go back to school this past Thursday. Yeah! Not so much... by 1:30pm I received a call from her school telling me that she woke up from her nap screaming that she didn't feel good and that she was indeed running a fever of 104.5 degrees. Yikes. I called the doctor and they told me to rush her in so she could be seen asap. It was decided that she had viral pneumonia and that her oxygen level was so low that it lead them to believe that she had been having low grade asthma attacks for a few days. I felt horrible... how did we not even notice that she was having these attacks. She hadn't been wheezing or turning color. Apparently wheezing isn't always as dramatic and obvious as one might think. The doctor had me put my ear up to her back and listen. Sure enough... wheezing. Bless her heart. We were given an antibiotic for her and told to continue the breathing treatments every 4 hours. over the next day and a half she got worse and her fever got higher. Finally Saturday night her fever broke and by Sunday afternoon she was eating a little and was starting to get her energy back. Poor Savannah is taking so much medicine... and for the most part she is really good about it. Never complains, or cries, or spits it out. That was until she was prescribed this antibiotic. The moment it gets inside her mouth she starts to gag and spits it out. She keeps telling us, "eeww, that's dirty. I don't want it." As frustrating as it is to deal with a child who is refusing to take her meds... it was so funny at the same time. When did she learn "that's dirty" and how does she know to use it in that context. She is so random... and smart. It's scary. Alright, long story short... she is back at school today. We are praying that she remains healthy. We have exactly one week until we leave for Vegas and the LAST thing that we need is to have her come down with something else.

Sorry... no pictures. I feel bad, but I have not taken any pics of her this last week. I'll get some good ones soon.
