Bath Time Baby

Over the last few months bath time has become more and more difficult. Savannah went from one day loving baths so much that she would spend hours in the tub if we let her to hating baths so much that she would kick and scream bloody murder the whole time I forcfully washed her. I am not sure why things changed for the worse. I know that one day we let the water drain while she was in the tub and the noise that the drain makes freaked her out. I also know that one time when Eric was rinsing her hair water went in her eyes and that too freaked her out. She is at that stage where she needs to bathe pretty regularly. She runs and sweats all day at school... I didn't think that a toddler could smell that bad. Ohhhhh, was I wrong. I tried everything to get her to take a bath. I sang, I played in the bubbles with her, I read to her, I tried to bribe her with Shrek afterwards, I even went so far as to put her in the water in her clothes once because she would not let me take them off of her. I was at my end! I was almost ready to let her be the smelly kid. Then one day last week I was at Target doing a little xmas shopping and I came across this bath time baby. The baby had it's own robe, bath toy, and shampoo. Genius!! Savannah is so into babies and being a mommy right now... I figured this was worth a shot. So last night I surprised Savannah with her new baby. The catch.... the baby was in the tub taking a bath. She was so excited. She tore her clothes off and climbed in the tub. She sat there and washed her baby while I washed her. She even let me rinse her hair with no fuss. Then after the bath Savannah and her baby put their towels on. She loved being able to dry her baby off. She is such a good mommy. After we were all done Eric said to me, "that's great, but you know she is going to want to take a bath all the time now." Sure enough, that was the first thing out of her mouth when we got home tonight. She ran to her room, got her baby and said, "mommy, baby take a bath." At least she won't be the stinky kid anymore!

What a great idea! Mine never went through that phase, but Lucy would LOVE that doll. Savannah is so cute being a "mommy"- I love the picture of her and the baby in the towels.
