I have been dreading this task since I found out we were having another kid. Potty training is the worst. Savannah was actually fairly easy to potty train and I still really dislike the whole process. It reminds me too much of house breaking a dog... pee everywhere, constant loads of laundry, nonstop lysoling... oh the joys. So when Ryder started to tell us he peed in his diaper and started to ask about toilets, I knew that the time was coming. I had planned to wait to address it until Savannah was back in school and out of my hair... but somehow we wound up at the baby store purchasing a potty chair. It has been in our living room for a full week now and Ryder has had 4 successful pee pees in the potty. Several non successful tries, and a handful of times where he didn't even want to try. Considering we weren't actively potty training him this past week, I am pretty impressed with how Ryder has done so far. Hopefully this is a sign that once I do begin the all out big boy underwear wearing potty training process that it will be a little easier than I expected.
Pictures of successful pee pees... not disgusting at all, right.
His reward when he goes potty: BEANS! They sit on our counter as a reminder to him that he can have some if and only if he goes potty. So far this has been a great reward for him.
