Birthday Boy!!

So crazy that my sweet baby boy is already one.  This past year flew by way too quickly.  We haven't done much to celebrate the big birthday today... we just got back into town late yesterday afternoon, and we are all pretty worn out.  I did make it out to the store to talk with some bakery staff about Ryder's allergies.  I had been pretty concerned and mildly stressed about what exactly his allergies meant for the frosting on cakes.  While he is allergic to egg whites... if it is baked (cooked) in, then he can eat it... which is why the cake itself is alright.  After trying a few different grocery stores, I finally was helped by a lady who knew what she was talking about.  She explained to me that the frosting that is used is basically water, sugar, and oil... good news.  So I bought a pack of cupcakes and headed back to the house to let the birthday boy try one.  Thankfully he had no reaction... the lady knew what she was talking about... he loved the cupcake... such happy news!  A birthday just wouldn't have been the same without a little cake!
