After a week plus break from the blogging world, Savannah and I are back. Last week the two of us arrived in San Diego to spend the holiday and a couple extra weeks with my family. The weather since we have been here has been cold and rainy off and on, so Savannah and I have been taking it easy and relaxing at home with my family. The forecast for the rest of the time we are here is pretty nice though... so hopefully there are some sunny SD adventures in our future. This morning bright and early we headed out to Balboa Park with my dad for Father Joe's annual turkey trot. Other than being a tad bit to early for Savannah's taste, she had a blast. She actually ran the first half mile or so, walked another mile and a half, and then was carried on my dad's shoulders for the last mile. All in all, a great time for a great cause and a fabulous way to start our Thanksgiving. When we got home we changed clothes and started to get all the food ready for our family feast. I'm not sure the menu was to Savannah's liking though. She was not so much a fan of my cranberries or the ham or the turkey. She did love the sweet potatoes (of course, covered in marshmallows) and stuffing. Now we are cuddled up in bed ready for some much needed rest. I hope everyone out there had a wonderful thanksgiving with the people they love... we sure did!
