It has been a crazy few days around here. For about a week Savannah had been battling a runny nose and a cough... doctor said it was nothing to worry about, "just allergies". Then on Saturday she woke up complaining about her ear. She was not running a fever and acting like her normal self. We were pretty positive that when the doctor's office opened on Monday that they would tell us that Savannah had an ear infection. Since it seemed like it was in the early stages and Savannah was up and about acting fine and still wanting to play in her soccer game, we went ahead and took her. Poor thing was such a trooper... she played her two quarters of the game holding her ear the entire time. We sound like horrible parents, I know. In our defense, she was not complaining about her ear and was actually smiling and running around with the other kids prior to the game. Sunday it seemed like her ear had gotten worse, and by Monday morning she was crying nonstop and wouldn't take her hand off her ear. As suspected, the doctor said it was an ear infection and prescribed an antibiotic. The rest of Monday was a nightmare... Savannah screamed and cried because of the pain. She finally fell asleep and stayed asleep for most of the day and the entire night. Today, even though Savannah was feeling a lot better, we took it easy. The antibiotics seem to be working... she has not held her ear once today. Thank goodness!
